LLC vs S Corp

1 Hour Consult

What do people hate the most about lawyers? Okay, there are a number of things, but I am talking about the cost in this instance. The 1 Hour Consult may just be the solution.

When it comes to legal situations, many people often are simply trying to get the answer to a few questions. Should I form an LLC or a corporation? Should I form a "C" corporation or an "S" corporation? How do I do these? A quick review of information on the web leads to…a longer view with plenty of headaches as you try to figure out what is what. One site says you should do this while another says just the opposite. Which is correct?

The problem with legal questions is they are highly fact dependent. This means that the correct business entity choice for a person with three investors of which one is a Mexican national is entirely different from the appropriate choice for a doctor trying to form his practice. Getting answers to these specific situations is all you really want, but retaining a lawyer is such a chore and often an expensive one.

My handy new 1 Hour Consult is just that. It is an hour consultation charged at a flat fee of $250. You can ask whatever questions you like during that time and I'll answer them. In fact, I'll ask you to send a list before the meeting so we can cover as much as possible. Yes, we can do the meeting as a teleconference.

There are a couple of caveats you need to be aware of. First, this only applies to legal areas I am familiar with including niches such as business entity, internet law and so on. If you have a question about landlord-tenant law, I'm not going to be able to help you out unless you want to pay me an hourly rate to go figure out how that area works. Trust me - you don't!

You'll note on the site that I also offer a free consultation. So, why pay for one? The difference is found in the nature of the answers. A free consultation comes with answers about general subjects such as "your choices come down to a corporation or LLC." With the paid consult, the answer would be "you should choose this business entity and here is why."

The 1 Hour Consult is designed to help you out during these challenging economic times. I am not aware of anyone else offering this option. Perhaps that will change, but at least you have somewhere you can get answers to your basic questions now. Contact me to set up an appointment.
